Reason #20: And, for my final reason, it’s very simple: you. One of the most amazing things that makes me love Newsies as much as I do is the fandom. Be it through the NML, ff.net, the Refuge, LH’s, message boards, tumblr, the TNC… whether newsies, fansies or ambastards… the Newsies fandom is the best one around. 20 years strong, cult classic followers or no, this fandom is absolutely amazing.

Reason #17: Fan fiction! Don’t like how the movie ended? Wish your favorite characters had more screentime? Wonder what happened behind the scenes? There’s a fic about it, I’m sure. And, knowing our fandom, it could be full of Mary Sues, written in a New Yawk dialect, full of hot boys kissing… but it’s all amazing. And, being the 7th more popular categoy on fanfiction.net, there’s certainly plenty of it!

Reason #16: Because it’s me, I had to include this fella right here. Sure, Kloppman gets the boys up, but who makes sure they get their papes? Nope, not Weasel. Not Morrris And Oscar? No way. It’s this guy.

Reason #15: Headlines don’t sell papes — Newsies sell papes. But sometimes you need a good assasination, give them an earthquake or a war. No crooked politicians, nitwit, ‘cause that ain’t news no more. Then again, throw in some catchy words — maniac, corpse, lovenest, or nude perhaps — and watch those papes fly.
